Accessibility

Where possible this site has been designed to ensure greater accessibility to all users of QUOTABOARD. Over time, we will continue to work towards making this site even more accessible to all audiences. Some of the key features currently used include:

  • Use of Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) and XHTML - CSS-based design makes this site more accessible to most browsers, including specialised browsers for the physically or visually impaired.
  • New browser windows - In general, each link on this site opens in the existing browser window.
  • Font sizes - Because of the complex interactions between browser, platform and operating system, it is impossible to find a font size specification that looks the same under all circumstances and that can also be resized for users with visual impairment. Most browsers should resize fonts successfully on this web site, however we recommend the use of a browser that allows text resizing independent of the manner in which the font size is specified. These include Opera 5 or 6 and Netscape 6 or 7 for the PC, and Internet Explorer 5 and 5.1 for the Macintosh.

  • Resizable layout - All pages in Quotaboard will resize to fit the browser window in which the page is viewed. This maximises readability for users of all browser windows regardless of size.
  • Alternative text - Alternative text is provided for all images used in the Quotaboard site.
